Candice McNabb - Attorney
"I have always wanted to be that approachable person that could eliminate the fears victims may have about the legal system." Candice McNabb says confidently. "Let's face it, courtrooms and lawyers can be very intimidating for most people. I want to make it my responsibility to help relieve victims from the fears of this unknown territory."
And making sure her clients feel comfortable and understand the process is what drives Candice. "It may just be a simple question or holding a client's hand through the legal process but educating and providing that necessary guidance is always rewarding especially when someone has been wronged."
Her experience in the legal arena started even before she finished college and started law school. "I was a legal assistant during the day and attended the University of Houston at night, majoring in American Jurisprudence. I knew that I wanted to be involved in the law and thought that working in a law firm would be a quickest way to start working with and helping others." She continued her legal assistant work even while attending the South Texas School of Law.
Candice has been with Williams Kherkher since before she graduated from law school and believes solidly in the firm. "Each and every attorney here has something different and outstanding to offer our clients and one another. We have no closed doors here. John Eddie is a forward thinker and always pushing his attorneys to do the same. He is not afraid to push the envelope. John Eddie and the attorneys here are always in the forefront, holding leadership roles in any litigation in which we are involved."
Candice handles personal injury cases involving work-related injuries and pharmaceutical companies. Her legal education and experience has paid off for her clients but she has one particular story that stands out most in her mind. "I represented a gentleman that did not speak English and was the sole provider for his family. He was a subcontractor who was spreading concrete when he was hit in the head and back with a cement pump truck hose, rendering him unable to work up to the point of mediation. He was extremely skeptical of the justice system. He came with WK and we were able to work out a fair settlement between him and the company. I can still remember watching him telephone his wife and telling her that the family would be alright. It was very gratifying to witness his relief. This story is representative of many that I have seen while working at WK."
When asked about the one piece of advice she would give prospective clients, Candice is direct, "There are NO stupid or silly questions when it comes to your rights under the law. Just call and ask us." She also adds, "It is not wrong for you to ask for what you are owed and sometimes you must stand up and fight. We are here to help you through that."
