Devin McNulty - Attorney

"Cross-examination is my favorite part of the mechanics of being a trial lawyer." says Williams Kherkher attorney Devin McNulty. "I enjoy building a case, fact-by-fact, witness-by-witness and being on the proactive side of the court room. The prosecution of lawsuits gives me the burden, but also the last word."

Devin's passion for the law is evident by what drives him, "Most of my clients are either from 'The Greatest Generation' or are Baby Boomers. The former built the country's economic might while the latter produced social equality. We owe a debt of gratitude to all those who worked hard to contribute in making America a great country and it is a tremendous honor to represent these groups against corporations that refuse to take responsibility for harming them." Devin adds, "Williams Kherkher has the resources, desire and human capital to make the wrongs right while keeping that personal connection to each client."

Story-telling is a family tradition for Devin. Both his father and grandfather worked as journalists and Devin developed a strong desire to shed light on all angles of his clients' situations. "A consumer lawyer has to wear several hats – compassion for their clients, deference to judges and juries, firmness with the other side and most importantly, the ability to tell a story. You have to be able to weave a compelling story to edify your arguments and to expose those that deserve exposure."

Because of his focus on mass-tort cases, Devin is aware that clients are usually coming to him because something horrible has happened to them and they are seeking justice for avoidable negligence. "We see people on the worst days of their lives and must offer compassion and sympathy. We do that for everyone who comes through our door whether we can take their case or not. People deserve respect and dignity which is why it is so frustrating when we can't take a case because of misguided tort reform legislation. Everyone should be afforded their opportunity for justice."

This is one of the reasons Devin is committed to making sure his clients, as well as all who are eligible, vote. "It is the most important thing you can do to begin the journey for reclaiming your rights and your family's reasonable access to the courthouse." Devin continues, "Because of special interests groups and corporations misleading consumers, we have consistently given away our rights to hold others accountable for their negligence or malicious intent. That is why it is important that we vote and strive to obtain equal footing with corporations in the courtroom."

Devin was a visiting professor of law at the Universidad de Guanajuato School of Law in Guanajuato, Mexico, and in his spare time, he enjoys traveling throughout Mexico and Latin America.
