Explosion at Pasadena Chemical Plant Injures Four
An explosion on Friday at a Pasadena, TX chemical plant resulted in injuries to four workers, including one 42-year-old man who was sent via life flight to a nearby hospital to receive treatment for severe chemical burns to his chest and face.
According to authorities, the plant, which was located on the Houston ship channel, manufactures a variety of different chemicals and is owned by Albemarle Corporation. The site is operational seven days a week, and employs 300 workers on site. Authorities reported that there was no risk of chemicals harming those in the nearby community, and as of Friday afternoon, a fire that resulted from the explosion had been put out.
