Diamond Dreams Gala Raises $1.3 million for Astros Foundation
On Friday night, January 22, the Diamond Dreams Gala took place at Minute Maid Park, raising $1.3 million for the Astros Foundation. The event, co-chaired by Sheridan and John Eddie Williams, featured a cocktail-attire dinner, appearances by current and former Astros players, and an after-dinner concert by James Taylor. The Astros Foundation began four years ago as a way to help give back to people around Houston and to support various charities throughout the city. Recently, the foundation has narrowed their focus on raising money to support education, youth baseball, the military, and the city’s homeless population. The Friday night Diamond Dreams Gala was specifically raising money to support New Hope Housing, an organization that strives to provide safe, affordable housing options for Houston’s most vulnerable residents.
