Williams Family Donates $200,000 to Goodfellows Fund

Williams has donated total of 1 million dollars to the fund in 7 years

HOUSTON, TX (December 11, 2009) – Williams Kherkher Hart Boundas, LLP, announced today that Houston attorney and philanthropist John Eddie Williams, Jr., his wife Sheridan and daughters Kristen Nix and Lauren Clark have donated $200,000 to the Houston Chronicle's Goodfellows Fund. Goodfellows has provided new toys for needy children ages 2 to 10 for nearly 100 years. Donations go towards the purchase of toys and other gifts for underprivileged children. Toys are distributed to over 100,000 children each holiday season.

This is the seventh year in a row that Mr. Williams, managing partner of Williams Kherkher, and his family have donated to the fund. This year's amount matches their 2008 donation of $200,000, bringing their total donation over 7 years to 1 million dollars.

"We can't tell you how much we appreciate all that the Williams Family has done these past seven years," said Goodfellows director Nelle Spates. "They have had a tremendous impact on the Goodfellows program allowing us to reach thousands more children in the Houston area." Spates continues, "When you look at the Williams' extraordinary commitment to this charity over the past 7 years, it is inspiring! The entire Goodfellows fund is in awe of such generosity."

"This is a charity that we as a family truly believe in," said Williams. "We are well aware that this, and the previous year have been especially challenging for many Houstonians. Our annual donation has become a tradition in our home and comes with the hope that we are able to help spread holiday cheer and inspire others to give what they can in the spirit of the season."
