Largest Gift in Toy Drive's History Matched by Houston Attorney
The spirit of the season is alive and well as Houston personal injury attorney John Eddie Williams, Jr. and his wife Sheridan donate $200,000 to the Houston Chronicle's Goodfellows Fund. This year marks Mr. Williams' fifth year to donate to the Fund. He comments, "Goodfellows is one of the most impressive organizations I've ever been associated with. Sheridan and I appreciate the efforts of everyone involved." That appreciation will help provide gifts to over 100,000 needy children this holiday season. The children who will receive gifts range in age from 2 to 10 years old.
Nelle Spates, Goodfellows director, was overjoyed with Mr. Williams' gift. "John Eddie and Sheridan's generosity is truly inspiring. This extraordinary investment in our program will allow Goodfellows to help even more children in the Houston area this year", she said.
Managing partner of the law firm of Williams Kherkher, Mr. Williams' gift matches the largest individual donation that the toy drive has seen in its 96-year history. This generous gift will bring smiles to even more faces than usual this year and that number will only continue to grow as Goodfellows continues to receive donations from caring people like John Eddie and Sheridan Williams. A donation of any amount can brighten the day of an underprivileged child. These gifts help to remind them that in a world that may not have treated them fairly, there still are good people out there who strive to make life a little better for people in need.
Best known for representing the state of Texas against the tobacco industry, the personal injury law firm of Williams Kherkher has been successfully protecting the rights of their clients for many years. They have recovered hundreds of millions of dollars in damages for their clients and continue to provide experienced legal representation to those injured by someone else's negligence.
