Williams Kherkher Recovers $3 Million for Client in Asbestos Case
Brownsville, TX – Williams Kherkher clients Oscar and Dora Torres were recently awarded $3 million for past and future damages stemming from Mr. Torres’ exposure to asbestos.
In the late 1970s, Oscar Torres was exposed to harmful asbestos fibers while working at the Union Carbide plant in Brownsville, Texas. He later developed deadly asbestos-related cancer as a result of this exposure.
Williams Kherkher attorneys Steve Kherkher, Troy Chandler, and Devin McNulty were proud to represent Oscar and Dora in their fight for justice.
The jury agreed with Oscar and Dora, finding Union Carbide Corporation, Garlock Sealing Technologies, and Brown & Root each partially liable for Oscar’s illness. The jury awarded Oscar and Dora $1 million in past damages and $2 million in future damages.
