Eloy E. Gaitan, Attorney
“I fight on behalf of individuals that have been injured by the negligence or carelessness of others. I take satisfaction in knowing I can alleviate the stressors that impact the family unit when a member of the family, normally the single bread winner, is injured by someone’s negligence.”
Eloy knows this from experience and knows first-hand the spiraling traumatic events that can occur when a family member is injured. This is one of the motivating factors that Eloy considered when he decided to become a lawyer. “My father was injured when I was in high school. I understand the hardships and financial pressures that a family endures when the sole bread winner is unable to earn a weekly check.” Eloy continues, “ The daily routines, the stability and the security all change and place the family into constant turmoil.
Upon his graduation from Texas Tech University in Lubbock, Texas, Eloy went on to pursue a law degree at the Thurgood Marshall School of Law. From there, Eloy went on to practice law privately for over 12 years. “My hardest day was the first day of my first trial and my best day was a successful first verdict.” You see, it is not the law or how scholarly we are, but showing a sense of sincerity and conviction in who you are and who you are defending, those that need help the most. This compassion will carry the day.”
Private practice was a bit different for Eloy compared to what he is doing now at Williams Kherkher Hart Boundas LLP. “We are fortunate here to have an abundant amount of resources in representing our clients. Our eagerness to tap into these resources benefits our clients in our pursuit of zealously defending their case.” Of further benefit is our understanding of the Hispanic culture and the fact that we are fluent in Spanish.
When he is not practicing the law, Eloy is spending quality time with his two sets of twin boys all while missing his beautiful daughter who is off in college. When he can find an extra moment or two, he is working out or riding his Harley but even then, he is thinking about his cases, “Trial is a battle of strategy.”
Eloy enjoys helping his clients and their families and he has a piece of advice for anyone who may feel like they have been unjustly wronged. “Do not be scared of our legal system for it is to serve, protect and preserve our rights under the law.”
