Williams Family Donates $250,000 to Goodfellows Charity
This Christmas, John Eddie Williams and his wife, Sheridan, once again were proud to donate to the Goodfellows Program, a charitable program created by the Houston Chronicle that has provided Christmas presents to underprivileged children between the ages of 2 and 10 for more than 100 years. Last year alone the program was able to provide toys to nearly 50,000 children in 10,000 different families.
The Williamses have contributed to the charity for a number of years, and several years in a row held the distinction of offering the largest single gift that year. When asked why this charity is so important to the couple, John Eddie responded that, “I believe that children are innocent and deserve to smile, and they deserve a break in life, especially those that the Goodfellows Program touches.” Sheridan continued, “At Christmas time, families are in need, and we are blessed we can help.”
