At around 8 a.m. on Friday, February 22, 2019, a man was killed in a multi-vehicular accident that occurred in Brownsville, Texas.
According to Brownsville Police, Marco Delgado, 19, turned when unsafe at the 3200 block of West Alton Gloor Boulevard, and this then caused a collision with four other vehicles to occur. At least six people were injured and were brought to a nearby hospital for treatment. Delgado, on the other hand, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigation is still ongoing for this accident.
It is unfortunate to hear of what happened to Marco Delgado. Alas, he is not the only one whose life is taken away by a car accident. Car accidents like this are awfully common nowadays. In a statistics provided by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), car accidents occur almost every minute of every day, and for every 16 minutes, someone dies from a car accident. This can be translated to be about 6 million car accidents every year and about 37,000 people dying from them.
There are three most common causes for car accidents, and these are DUI (driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol), speeding, and driving while distracted.
