Sea Rim State Park to get more BP oil spill recovery money

Posted on Saturday, December 14th, 2013 at 2:48 pm

A proposed draft plan for the next installment of money to be paid by oil giant BP would provide more assistance to the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department’s Sea Rim State Park.

The Gulf Coast states will be given an allocation of $627 million, according to this proposal, to help them reorganize and repair damage. Of this sum, $18.4 million is to be given to fund Texas restoration projects. Under this proposal, the Sea Rim State Park would receive a little over $210,000. Also included in the list of Texas projects is the rehabilitation of the Galveston Island State Park, which would be given $10.8 million for beach facilities, and an effort to reconstruct three offshore artificial reefs, which will be allotted around $7.4 million.

Filing a claim with the Deepwater Horizon Claims Center can be difficult and complicated, as BP has been successful in turning down a good number of claims. However, with the help of our legal team at Williams Kherkher, you may be more likely to get the financial assistance you need. Call us at (888) 220-0640 to further discuss your claim.
